Instead of practicing unconditional love, I am learning to love infinitely.
Hear me out.
What I’ve come to realize is that unconditional love is the lynch pin to my generational trauma.
On the surface, the word unconditional that can sound freeing, but it isn’t. It only sounds freeing when the concept being presented seems progressive. In reality, unconditional love is really blind faith.
Love has plenty of conditions, read boundaries, which unconditional love inadvertently suggests I ignore.
Unconditional love requests that I just accept whatever behavior is lumped into the concept of love at any moment in time. And vice-versa, me to others.
Unconditional love is tricky. It looks free, but is actually constrictive because it upholds binary thought patterns.
The difference between unconditional vs infinite love is foundational.
Rather than just accepting things, infinite love requests that I engage my intuition, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence. I need to ask good questions when I don’t understand me, or you.
In doing so, infinite love teaches me that love is not black and white, but rather all the colors in between.
Bottom line.
Curiosity and healthy boundaries pave the way to me loving, better… you too…
