Knowledge is power, wisdom makes it sacred.

In this age of information, we are at a crossroads of our human development. Consuming and producing content that is in alignment with our personal and collective betterment has been highjacked by power and greed. Of late, to a level of incompetence that is beyond comprehension.

But underneath the chaos, is a quest to understand ourselves and each other more fully. Moving forward it is critical that we learn from ancestral wisdom, lived history, and modern advancements. Both, and, all of the above…

We are in the lifeboat of humanity. Our wisest selves are capable of pulling us to shore. My family is proof that evolution is possible. The past number of years we have doubled down on our becoming. We have pushed, pulled, and parented each other. The work remains, but it has a sense of ease now that we have more knowledge and better language to express where we have been and were we hope to go.

This piece foreshadows our possibility.

The background is my favorite Scott Mutter poster and related quote. The poster has been traveling with me since 1991. It’s of a Chicago library. It currently lives with my son, a special collection librarian and archivist. My daughter, who’s pillow “joy” is in the forefront of the piece, lives in Chicago. Go figure…

The pillow is sitting on the chandelier from our bedroom, encouraging us to dream of better. When we allow our wisest selves to illuminate our thoughts we unleash the power of our potential.
